How to co-develop urban-rural spaces by the means of culture was the key question discussed during the cultural policy conference of the city and region of Hildesheim. In my key note speech I explored the fact that the dichotomy of urban rural is not accurate anymore – and probably never was. The territorial and cultural features are manifold, layered and overlapping. Art and culture are areas with considerable potential to make this diversity visible. I highlighted in my speech and the panel debate main features of future cultural policies and how integrative approaches can be brought into practice related to the diversity of territories.
